|
Before you buy a pram you need to ask yourself a few questions:
Does a Baby Pram comply with Australian Standard?
All prams sold at Babies Direct comply with Australian Standards.
Does a Pram fit into the boot of your car?
What is your Budget?
|
|
At Babies Direct we have broken our prams up into 5 different categories:
|
-
3 wheel prams are commonly known as Joggers and many have added suspension, making them perfect for the active parents.
-
If you are planning to jog with your child make sure that the pram has been tested for jogging.
-
Some 3 wheel prams can be quiet bulky so before you buy you 3 wheel pram please check that the pram can fit into the boot of your car.
-
Swivel wheels are pretty standard on a 3 wheel pram so they are easy to manoeuvre.
-
Optional toddler seats and bassinets are available for some three wheel prams and some are compatible with Capsules.
-
Pram handles on the 3 wheel prams are NOT reversible so if you want your child to face you as an infant you will need a pram that can take a capsule or bassinette.
-
If you do plan to use a bassinette option on your three wheel pram, be aware that you can't use a toddler seat at the same time if the three wheel pram is in bassinette format.

Most 4 wheel prams have a flat fold and generally have better manoeuvrability, especially when the front wheels are smaller than the back.
-
4 wheel prams on average are heavier than 4 wheel strollers.
-
Many 4 wheel prams have the option of either a reversing seat or a reversing handle - this lets you face your child in the earlier months this can be comforting to new parents.
-
Most 4 wheel prams are suitable for newborns and many can take a toddler seat, capsule or Bassinette.
-
Some 4 wheel prams such as the Strider Plus & Baby Jogger City Select can also be used for twins when purchasing the additional seats.

Almost all strollers have 4 wheels. Some fold as an umbrella fold and some fold flat.
-
They are light weight and simple to use. There are also many strollers that are compatible with Capsules making them perfect travel solutions.
-
Unfortunately strollers do not take toddler seats and their weight capacity may not be as much as a 4 wheel pram.
-
If you want a stroller for a newborn please check that the stroller is suitable for newborns.
-
Strollers are great for shopping centres and have a compact fold.
